About

The Greater Williamsburg Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind was created to assist Williamsburg area persons who are either blind or sight impaired.  The National Federation of the Blind is the only organization that believes in the full capacity of blind and low vision people, and has the power, influence, diversity and determination to help transform our dreams into reality.  We are bound together by our belief that the blind and low vision are capable of achieving our dreams and living the lives we want.  We support one another.

You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams.

Our Mission

What We Do

Through our network of blind members, we coordinate many programs, services, and resources to defend the rights of blind Americans, provide information and support to blind children and adults, and build a community that creates a future full of opportunities.
